my 2025 spotify wrapped

spotify wrapped dropped last week, yippee! admittedly i was a lot less excited for it this year, partly because of how dissapointing it was last year, and also because there were a good 3 months this year where i was unsubscribed from spotify premium, so my listening time was down compared to previous years.
when i opened my spotify wrapped i was immediately annoyed that it was in tiktok swipe up format instead of the old instagram story format
the most memorable new feature? being told that you have the music taste of a senior citizen just because you know music from before you were born. what they should've done was take the average of decades that you listen to music from, instead of looking at the oldest song you've streamed and deciding that you must be 73 years old if you know pink floyd songs. realistically my listening age should be more like 30 since i mostly listen to music from the 2000s.
not too much variety in my top songs because yes, i did listen to those 2 albums the most this year.
and for the 2nd year in a row, the 1975 are my top artist. i really thought it would be interpol! and for the first time since 2017, lady gaga appeared in my top artists, since she released her best album since 2013 this year. a notable absence though? where are arctic monkeys! they are always in my spotify wrapped. i feel like they were probably my 6th, jack white and the white stripes knocked them out of the top 5 because i saw jack white live earlier this year and my streaming stats are always influenced by the shows i've been to in the year.
